Hand Broom Workshop June 9th at Cultivate

Join Michelle Wanat from Apothecarve in learning how to make traditional Appalachian hand brooms. This workshop is on Sunday June 9th from 1pm to 4pm at Cultivate in Waynesville NC.

Michelle loves this heritage craft so much and wants to share it with you. In this workshop you will learn how to make a turkey wing and hawk tail hand brooms. You will learn a little of the history of them and share in craft surrounded by others who want to learn in the community as well. All materials will be provided and you will leave with 1-3 brooms that you yourself have made. Along with the knowledge to continue the craft.

Cultivate is a beautiful garden shop in downtown Waynesville. They sell all sorts of plants and special garden tools for the discerning gardener. You will be able to shop and enjoy a beverage during the worshop as well. Check out their website for more info about this special place.
