Spoon carving workshop Sunday January 26th 2025

$200.00
sold out

Come join me and learn how to carve an Everyday cooking spoon out of dried wood. Dried wood carving is a little different than green wood carving. Green wood is cut from a live tree and still has all its moisture. Dried wood is milled and dried for two or more years. In this type of carving we use a mixture of hand tools and electric tools. We will learn everything from the very beginning so no experience is required.

Included in the workshop …..

  • Learn safety skills for woodworking

  • learn how to carve a spoon

  • Take home spoon you carved yourself

  • a carving kit with 3 carving knifes including

  • an extra blank to take home and carve a second spoon

Workshop size is very small as I have a small space but will benefit y'all with more opportunity for one in one teaching . There are only 4 spots available. Tickets will close for this a week before workshop in order for me to order the amount of kits for my students. All of the work as students do will be with hand tools. However I will demetrate how I use power tools in my own process. For safety reasons students will not use power tools.

This workshop will take place on Sunday January 26th 2025 from 10- 4ish. There will be a 30 min lunch break at 1230ish. Please bring your own lunch. This workshop takes place in my own personal studio in Mars Hill NC.
